Hot Flush in menopause
Synonyms: hot flash, vasomotor symptom
Hot flush is the most common vasomotor symptom in perimenopause and early postmenopause - a sudden sensation of heat in face, neck, and chest lasting 1-5 minutes, often with sweating and reddening. Occurs due to changes in brain thermoregulation from estrogen fluctuations. Malaysian women experience hot flushes with severity influenced by hot, humid climate.
