Menopausal Insomnia in menopause
Menopausal insomnia is a common sleep problem in perimenopause and early postmenopause. Three main patterns: (1) sleep-onset difficulty, (2) waking from night sweats, (3) early morning waking without ability to return to sleep. Causes include estrogen fluctuations, night sweats, high cortisol, and anxiety. Treatment includes magnesium glycinate, sleep hygiene, 22-24°C room temperature, and root-cause treatment like hormone replacement therapy for night sweats.
