SSRI (Antidepressant) in menopause
SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) are a class of antidepressants also used for menopausal symptoms, especially for women who cannot or do not want hormone replacement therapy. Examples include paroxetine, escitalopram, and sertraline. Low doses can reduce hot flushes by 30-60% and support mood. Available at government clinics with a referral, or privately.
