Vitamin K2 (MK-7) in menopause
Synonyms: MK-7, menaquinone
Vitamin K2 in the MK-7 form is important for bone and heart health because it directs calcium to the bones rather than the arteries. Compared to K1 (from vegetables), K2 is more effective for this function. Clinical dose: 90-180mcg daily. Often combined with vitamin D3 and calcium in complete bone formulas.
